For
years we called them Hovers, I guess because the first upright Vacuum
Cleaner was imported into the UK by Hover™
in 1912, and later followed by Electrolux™,
but by 1919 Hoover™ cleaners were
manufactured in the UK. You may remember the advertising slogan of the time
'It beats as it sweeps as it cleans.' ™
as it had a new Beater Bar.
These things are so inefficient, they are great when new, but 9 months
later they are useless :)- unless you by an expensive one, then it will work
great for 10 months :)-
I bought a Bissell™ Vacuum
Cleaner and a matching carpet washer cleaner.
This Lift-Off(R) Bagless It's an Upright and a Cylinder All in One. (From
Bissell's™ Web Site)
The problem with Vacuum Cleaners is they get clogged up with dust, if you
clean the filters every time you use one, empty the dust collected every
time you use one, then you might not have many problems. You will also need
to let the machine cool down, so don't try cleaning the whole house at once,
give it 10 min to cool per room, then these machine work well and last.
Biggest problems are belts snapping, clogged up pipes and over heating of
the motors, which can lead to failure.
